Who We Are
Anchored in God’s Word (The Apostles’ Doctrine)
We believe that the more we know the written Word (the Bible), the more we become like the Living Word (Jesus). Therefore, we are committed to preaching and teaching the Scriptures in their entirety, and to living them out in daily life. God’s Word shapes our beliefs, guides our decisions, and directs our actions. Because of this, we believe that the more biblical we become, the less denominational we will be—finding our identity not in man-made labels, but in faithful obedience to the truth of God’s Word.
Anchored in Fellowship
Grounded in biblical truth, we prioritize deep and meaningful relationships within our church, especially through home groups. We support one another and grow together in Christ. We also value unity with the broader body of Christ and are committed to cooperating with other evangelical churches and Christian ministries to further the cause of Jesus.
Anchored in Worship and Communion
We regularly gather to remember Christ’s sacrifice through the breaking of bread and to express our shared faith through the worship of Jesus. We also value sharing meals with one another as a meaningful expression of fellowship that deepens our relationships and strengthens the unity of the body of Christ.
Anchored in Prayer
A healthy, maturing spiritual life flows from a heart devoted to prayer. We seek the mind of Christ through prayer that is rooted in Scripture, relying on the guidance, strength, and direction of the Holy Spirit to align every part of our lives and ministry with God’s will.
Because we believe the Bible is God’s final and sufficient authority for all matters of life and godliness, we do not seek new revelation outside of Scripture. Instead, we trust the Holy Spirit to apply God’s Word to our hearts and to lead us in daily decisions as we walk faithfully in this world.
Leadership Model
Anchor242 is a pastor-led, elder-accountable model of church governance that blends elements of both the Episcopal and Presbyterian traditions. The Senior Pastor, functioning as episkopos (overseer), provides vision, teaching, and spiritual leadership, as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:7. The Senior Pastor is held accountable by a Board of Elders, consisting of presbyteroi (elders), who offer wisdom, counsel, and oversight in accordance with Acts 14:23, 1 Timothy 5:17, and Titus 1:5–9. This structure seeks to maintain a healthy balance—honoring the pastoral leadership modeled in Scripture while also embracing the wisdom and accountability of a biblically qualified Board of Elders. It thoughtfully avoids the potential challenges of a Moses-style, single-leader approach or an exclusively elder-governed model, instead fostering shared spiritual discernment, mutual accountability, and faithful alignment with biblical principles.
